why use friendfeed? I would term it as a virtual lounge, where I can follow my friends, their activities. and If lets say web is a market, than it could be fun we do at malls, checkout things, pages, and all.

I try to hide stuff that isn't relevant or interesting to me, I really do, but the infojunkie in me can't bear the thought that it might miss some cool little nugget somewhere. Hell, I've even stopped hiding tweets from my subscriptions because I found one (out of hundreds) interesting enough to respond to!

Quid Pro Quo, old chap. That's a really interesting breakdown of some of the more pertinent aspects of friendfeed.

I too have never taken IV drugs, although I'm really considering mainlining friendfeed

Great post! I am going to write about FriendFeed this week (for the first time) and I think I'll probably just skip the overview and refer readers here. Thanks!

See, if I hadn't written this in the middle of the night, it would have been less rambly and actually included useful links such as this one. Thanks Louis.

Folks, if you are interested in my article on FriendFeed, you should definitely take a minute to head over to Louis' site and look at his article on using hide. Good stuff!

One thing I tried to do to help with the noise is develop a "how to" on the hide feature. You can find that here: http://tinyurl.com/6h37zl
