Not accusing here, no, I can just imagine how such posts could drive tons of traffic and initiate rounds of rumors in the blogosphere only to be updated by the blogger later to show they have little to do with reality. And when bloggers get an idea for huge traffic, they will very likely start to use it heavily

The additions don't really mesh that well with the rest of Flickr's interface, but they seem to work well.

That's what I like about the blogosphere – I rushed here to see what new features I overlooked today on Flickr and it is your own forgotten FF plugin. Excellent, I now know how I could get traffic spikes next time I need them
