You Choose the Target!

Wednesday, July 2nd, 2008

target logo on TV Ok, I’m going to try to keep this short and sweet. But first, let me tell you why.

I believe I have a problem, perhaps genetic, that does not allow me to make sentences shorter than originally written or determine when an article has gone on for too long, resulting in things like paragraph-long sentences, long meandering digressions, people having to take a bathroom break before finishing one of my articles, and browsers crashing as they run out of memory.

That said, now I have even less space to write this article. Ok, let’s get to it.

Maybe I Will Stick With My Day Job

Monday, June 16th, 2008

cube-farm I was going to write an opinion piece tonight, inviting my readership provide feedback on the best tactics I could employ to start moving toward blogging as a profession.  Apparently, the wait for someone to offer me riches in return for writing for their blog tactic I have been taking up until now hasn’t struck pay dirt.

With plenty of hubris, I was pleasantly dreaming of my easy entry into a work-from-home lifestyle, writing insightful, hard-hitting prose for a thankful employer and fawning audience.  If only they saw in me that spark of brilliance that I would sound too egoistic to point out directly! WinExtra’s New Sunday Blog Review: First Up, scribkin!

Sunday, June 1st, 2008

winextra-logo It was with complete surprise that I learned tonight that this blog was chosen to be the very first on WinExtra’s new series, the Sunday Blog Review

I was looking forward to seeing the review, as Steven Hodson had promoted the series earlier in the day.  I just happened to be on FriendFeed when it picked up Steven’s tweet about the new article:

Of course, I replied immediately in utter disbelief, and rushed over to check out the article.

Overall, I am completely flattered and honored that Steven chose my site to be reviewed.  This attention really helps reinforce my resolve to continue writing solid, helpful posts and news into the future.  And with that resolve comes a new awareness of networking.

While each of our blogs may be an island, its important to remember that when reading something interesting or useful, link it up if you write about that subject later.  It will add depth to your article and raise awareness for the other site.

Now, head over to WinExtra and check out the article!
